We are still here!!

Wow, it's been awhile since we've updated our blog!! I apologize. We have been busy re-organizing things around KVI.
Although we are not quite ready to reveal the changes that are coming, I wanted to let you know that we are still here!!

The website is down for now. Eyob -Executive Director in Ethiopia - will be taking over the website. He is currently re-designing it. I'm not sure when it will be back up and running. But things are still happening.

Updates:

Family empowerment - at this time we are no longer receiving new loans for family empowerment. You have been so generous in supplying KVI with over 100 family empowerment loans. They will now be re-used as the individuals in the program pay back their loans. Thank you so much for your generous support in this area!!

Child Sponsorship - we are still very much in need of sponsors for our child sponsorship program. It is still $20 a month and 100% of this money goes directly to the needs of the child.
*also if you are already a sponsor, please make sure to have your monthly payments reach our office before the end of the month. We greatly appreciate this as it helps us to wire the money over in a timely fashion

Orphanages - Both of our orphanages are filled with about 40-45 children at each location. Many children have come home since we first opened our doors almost 2 years ago (January). Over 50 children have come home to their forever families and several more are in the process. While we rejoice when these precious children join their lifelong families, there are still so many more that wait and wonder when their turn is coming. Please remember them in your prayers. It's so hard to watch your friends leave while you are left behind.

I am bit a technologically challenged, so thanks for your patience! Nikki is in Ethiopia checking on KVI and other projects throughout Addis. She will be returning on Friday. Northstar and KVI

Northstar students and staff worked together to clean up and provide service to their community during the annual Join Hands Day on May 8. The 6th grade students cleaned up Camp Manitou while the 8th grade students cleaned up Altoona County Park. Both grade levels picked up litter, raked leaves, and washed windows. The 7th grade students were involved in a variety of activities including making “Hope” bracelets for guests at the Beacon House and children in an Ethiopian orphanage, spring cleaning at the Bolton refuge homes, serving a meal at the Community Table, organizing food at the Feed My People Food Bank and St. Francis Food Pantry, organizing clothing for the Hope Gospel Mission, sorting and measuring trim boards for Habitat for Humanity, and collecting food and supplies for the Eau Claire County Humane Association. It was an amazing day for everyone involved.

The 7th grade students at Northstar Middle School made hope bracelets for all the children and staff at our Addis orphanage. This week we have a team in Ethiopia handing the bracelets out to the children and staff.

The 7th grade students as well as staff also collected many donations which have also been brought over to Ethiopia.

Thank you so much Northstar for your awesome support of KVI. We are honored to partner with you in bringing hope and love to Ethiopia.
